What is Rishta Nataa Department?
Our community has had this department for a long time. The purpose of this department is to facilitate families and individuals to connect with those families and individuals who are seeking a suitable match for their loved ones.
How does the department work?
We require each individual/parents/guardian to provide a brief profile of the applicant. You could visit www.rishtanaata.us and register. Upon registration, it allows one to enter the details of applicant.
How do we match?
As a general rule, we try to match the following (age, education background and flexibility) to the candidates in our database. Those candidates/parents who are flexible generally have several choices. If someone has a daughter who is a physician and if they are focused on finding a physician, they generally have very limited choices.
How does one proceed after getting information?
You are free to initiate the contact yourself (candidate/parents). We also facilitate the introduction through our department as well.
Should we completely rely on Rishta Nataa Department to find a suitable match?
A majority of our marriages take place through informal network of friends/families/extended families. One should explore all options at their disposal.
When should I contact the Rishta Nataa Department?
As early as possible, most of the candidates/families reach out to the department when they have not had reasonable success on their own. Preferably, a year or two before you like your loved one to be married.
At what age should we begin to look around for a match?
We recommend the earlier the better. When our kids are in late 20’s and early 30’s, by then, they have already made an ideal match for themselves. Most of our kids do not entertain excellent/good matches. Being married, we all know that getting married is the 1st step and staying married requires us to work on our relationship at a daily basis. We strongly recommend everyone to make every possible effort to strengthen their relationship.
Can we contact multiple individuals to assist in finding a match?
Yes! As long as you do not contact multiple members of the Rishta Nataa Team. You are free to contact as many friends and family members as possible. This would increase your chances by tapping into these individuals circle of contacts..
What should we include in the candidate profile?
As much information as possible which would help anyone to know more about you and this would include the following:
- Age
- Education
- Family
- Profession
- Lifetime goals
- Involvement in the community
- Other important activities/details
How would I better my chances in the system?
By taking some time and putting your profile together in the best presentable manner. A lot of applicants do not articulate details on the application which adversely impact’s their chances. You can also get some help from someone who could assist you in putting it together well.
Best ways to contact the Department?
The best way to contact the department is by emailing at rndepartment@yahoo.com or at 301 805 4721. We have developed a mechanism to reply emails and calls on these numbers within 24 to 48 hours.
